Ever Seen A Flying Bulldozer?
Well? Have you? Can’t say that I had before until this morning. As promised, I went up to the Airport to catch the Chinook lifting a D3 Cat Bulldozer.
At 18,000lb, the D3 Cat isn’t the heaviest load that has been slung into the PTA this week but it certainly is one of the more entertaining ones to watch. Once again the Weather gave me a bit of a challenge to get these shots looking decent but that adds to the satisfaction when they do turn out.
While the Chinook hauls equipment into the PTA, it is also backhauling old ordnance and other things that are no longer required in the Area. After this run, the helicopter came back with a pallet of practice artillery rounds.
After returning, the Weather had once again come down so the Chinook went back on hold. Hopefully things will clear up for them soon so they can get this job completed on time!
Once again, I’d like to thank my contacts at SERCO for allowing me the opportunity to get these shots.
I’d also like to thank my returning visitors! It’s you folks that keep me motivated and shooting! So keep on coming back and I’ll keep you entertained with all manner of flying machines and Aviation related articles.
